One of the many summer hot spots in Southwest Michigan is Silver Beach and the entire surrounding area. Lake Michigan and all of it’s splendor, the playgrounds, light house, Kilwin’s Ice Cream and South Bend Chocolate Factory, restaurants, (Schu’s Bar and Grill, Silver Beach Pizza – personal FAVORITE), gift shops, Curious Kids Museum and Discovery Zone, the Carousel, the Splash Pad… there truly is something for everyone. Summer boasts events like the Art Fairs, Farmer’s Markets, Brown bag Lunch Concerts and Fireworks – there is always something going on, and it is all right there.
Sometimes, you get lucky and the opportunity to stand just yards away from a ship coming off Lake Michigan and into the harbor will come. The kids love to wave at the crew and see how impossibly close the ship comes to the sides.
While I cannot provide pictures at this time, my husband would hold me accountable if I failed to mention the golf opportunities in the area with Harbor Shores (especially this year as they host their 2nd Senior PGA tour!) Check out what St. Joseph has to offer!
