I used to sell Tastefully Simple and still enjoy many of their products.  One that is off the market now, but hopefully will return is the Beer Cheese Soup.  Pair it with a burger or other sandwich for a different kind of side.  I am always looking for a different kind of side – sometimes, in trying to keep things interesting, the side is overlooked for it’s ability to make the main piece a whole new meal. For example, I LOVE burgers – I think I could eat them for every meal!  But a burger is like a beloved little black dress – the list of things you can pair with it can span the globe and each one gives the same standard piece a little different mood.

A favorite dessert at our house (even though we aren’t big on sweets) is strawberry shortcake.  Living in Michigan, we can boast some of the best strawberries in the world! (Bixby Orchards are my personal favorites for U Pick!) June has arrived when the berries are on and the boys and I are picking, eating and freezing these little beauts!!!  When a berry is this good, those little Styrofoam puffs from the store do not quite cut it.  An I find Bisquick to be just as intolerable with more effort.  To do the berries justice, I will only serve them with Tastefully Simple Almond Pound Cake.  Whip Cream is optional at that point.  Elegant and delicious!

My newest favorite from TS is a seasoning called Rustic Herb.  I boil my potatoes separately, brown my chicken in a little EVOO, add my potatoes and some fresh or frozen green beans with Rustic Herb seasoning to taste and serve!!  Easy!
