Random Acts of Kindness

At our last elementary staff meeting, our principal engaged our staff in an activity to appreciate each other, brighten each others day (and after the winter we had, here in the Midwest – we all could use a little goodwill and cheer) and promote some random acts of kindness amongst our staff. For this activity, everyone on staff drew names. Last week I sent my person flowers. She is a very sweet lady, loves kids, is festive and fun. I went last night to Bath and Body Works for a little inspiration and to grab a few items for the next couple of weeks.

Week One I gave Gerber Daisies, like the ones pictured here.  Last night, I picked up a trio of hand cream, shea body lotion, and walnut foot scrub mini’s and a pair of bumble bee socks (all at Bath and Body Works).  Our school mascot is the Bee – so everyone craves and collects all things bumble bee!  The theme here is to pamper yourself, you work hard and deserve it (and she does!!).  The last picture is lotion and body spray in a scent called Beautiful Day.  Easy to link the message “Hope you have a beautiful day”.  I also grabbed a little yellow candle (not pictured, yet) with the intent of adding some little yellow things to it (lemon drops, lemonade, ??? with a yellow bow) and focus on the theme of summer sunshine.  This lady truly spreads sunshine amongst the little ones that she works with.  If you are looking for some appreciation gifts, thank you gifts, etc.  Bath and Body Works is a good place to spark a little inspiration.  If you are on their mailing list, you can get coupons, freebies, and their sale flyers.  Best case scenario is to STOCK up during their December and June semi annual sales (CHEAP$$) for yourself and for potential gifts during the year!!  Bath and Body Works has free gift wrapping and a 100% guarantee (so if the fragrance you pick/receive isn’t quite right, it can be exchanged!) Check back in as the school year winds down and I come up with some more ideas!!
